Telunas Beach

There is another hidden, beautiful island around Batam managed by foreigners (besides Lagoy). The name is Sugi Island. I heard about this beautiful beach in 2004 when I saw two American guys moved next door of my house in Batam, Indonesia. A few months later, one of my friends worked for them.

Honestly only a few people know about this island. Again, this island is only promoted for foreigners. My friend told me that she has not seen any Indonesian come to this island. Understandably, not many Indonesian people love nature adventure. When the owners of this cottage were being interviewed by the local TV, one of callers asked: “Is there reception for cell phones there?” WTH…. (No cell phone, no TV, no sex LOL)

The Owners:  
Brad, Mike, and Eric were three college friends who had a dream of starting a tourism company together overseas.  Like many dreams they didn’t know how it was going to materialize.  In the year 2000, the guys along with their wives visited the Riau Islands on a tour of Southeast Asia, and it was here that they met the warm hospitality of the local people, saw the incredible remote beaches, and began to see how a dream might become a reality.
